D-day for Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
It's D-day for Kapuso celebrity couple Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, who are tying the knot on Tuesday afternoon, December 30, at Immaculate Concepcion Cathedral in Cubao, Quezon City.
The wedding, reported to be Spanish-themed, is grandiose and star-studded. Marian and Dingdong selected 20 pairs of principal sponsors, which include Dingdong and Marian's respective managers Perry Lansigan and Tony Tuviera; GMA executives Felipe Gozon and Giberto Duavit Jr.; Marian's fellow Dabarkads Vic Sotto; Kris Aquino; Regine Velasquez; Sharon Cuneta and Dra. Vicki Belo.
Just like in their pre-nuptial video, Dingdong rode a Ducati to the church. Cubao Bishop Honesto Ongtioco is the celebrant.
Prominent personalities from showbiz and politics are there to celebrate with the couple. President Noynoy Aquino is Witness of Honor.
Friends and family
The entourage consists of the couple's closest friends and family. Marian's best friends from showbiz Ana Feleo and Roxanne Barcelo are the maids of honors. Dingdong's brother Jose Angelo Dantes is one of the three best men.
Secondary sponsors include Richard Gomez and Cong. Lucy Torres; Senators Bam Aquino and Grace Poe; KC Concepcion; Ai-Ai Delas Alas and Gabby Eigenmann.
The couple has 19 groomsmen and 18 bridesmaids, from inside and outside showbiz. Ryzza Mae Dizon is one of the flower girls.
Since Dingdong proposed to Marian in her self-titled dance show last August, their upcoming wedding and preparations have created a big buzz. Marian will wear Dubai-based Filipino designer Michael Cinco's lace gown creation. Michael flew from Dubai to dress-up the Kapuso actress.

The Kapuso actress had several bridal showers before the wedding. The first, was held in Hong Kong Disneyland with family and friends. Marian’s ninang, Dra. Vicki Belo also sponsored a bridal shower for her.
Marian's Spanish father Franciso Gracia went to Manila to witness his daughter's special day.
Hours before the wedding, guests and Marian's supporters have been updating followers on social media about the much-awaited occasion. The church is adorned with white flowers.
A grand reception follows at the Mall of Asia Arena after the wedding.
