Daniel Padilla injured in basketball tournament

Daniel Padilla’s fans tasted a bittersweet victory at “Royal Fair: Final Game” in Mall of Asia Arena on Sunday, January 20.

Daniel’s team won the tournament with a score of 100-94 against Enrique Gil’s team.

But Daniel was injured during the last minutes of the tournament, held to promote the teleserye “Princess and I.”

According to “Umagang kay Ganda,” National University player Bobby Ray Parks Jr.’s elbow accidentally hit Daniel’s chin.

“Actually I was going out for the shot. He jumped in when I shot the shot. He dropped to the deck, I came to him and said, 'Yo, I didn't try to do that. I'm sorry,” Bobby said in an interview.

Sorry, Daniel

He apologized to Daniel and other people concerned.

“I truly apologize for what happened at the game, didn't mean it and it's a part of the game. To Daniel Padilla, fam, friends, fans, I'm sorry #accident,” Bobby tweeted.

ABS-CBN head of TV Production Lauren Dyogi  posted a photo of Daniel being brought to the emergency room for first aid.

“Princess and I” female lead Kathryn Bernardo said, “Lahat kami na-bother kung ano talaga ang nangyari.”

Daniel’s mother Karla Estrada tweeted that the young actor had 14 stitches. She assured Daniel’s fans that her son is okay and is currently resting.

“Guys ok NA Si DJ, nagpapagaling NA :)) ako naman nag papababa na init ng ulo sa nangyari! LOL,” Karla tweeted.

She added that Daniel must rest for seven days until his stitches are removed. Karla thanked  fans for their concern and support.

“At least ok NA DJ that's what matters most! Lahat Pwede mangyari sa game. Just understand the first reaction of amother NA duguan Ang Anak,” Karla tweeted.

“Princess and I” is down to its last three weeks in ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
