It’s official. Dawn Zulueta is replacing Maricel Soriano in the upcoming ABS-CBN teleserye “Bukas na Lang Kita Mamahalin.”
Dawn has accepted the role originally meant for Maricel, who was removed from the cast because of an “unfortunate incident” that happened between her and Gerald Anderson on the first taping day of the teleserye.

“I really love the role and I really would also like to do this and I hope Maricel would also be proud of me,” Dawn said in “Bandila” on Monday, January 29.
Dawn is happy her follow-up project after the widely-successful teleserye “Walang Hanggan” is a good one.
“Kung utang na loob ang pag-uusapan dito, meron talaga kasi once upon a time, isa lang akong artista na magkaroon ako ng memorable role. It came nung “Walang Hanggan,” it’s a team effort.” This is the second time Dawn will be working with Gerald. The first was in the movie “Catch Me I’m in Love.”
“I’m really looking forward to this kasi nung pinapanood ko si Gerald noong “Budoy,” talagang pinapahanga niya ako,” she said.
Dawn added, “I really wasn’t planning on working yet. Ang usapan nga namin ng asawa ko magpapahinga muna ako. Dapat magpapahinga ako this summer.”
A grateful Gerald told Dawn in a taped message:
“Sobra po kaming blessed, excited, privileged and thankful na kasama po kayo.”
