Despite intrigues, 2012 a ‘happy year’ for Cristine Reyes
Cristine Reyes was hit by a number of intrigues this year, among them her feud with sister Ara Mina and alleged breakup with Rayver Cruz. But the feisty Kapamilya actress said she doesn’t let showbiz issues affect her.

“As long as alam mo naman kung nasaan ka, kung nasa tama ka, hindi ka maaapektuhan ng mga paninira sa ‘yo,” the 23-year-old star told members of the press during the Christmas party of the Calayan Surgican Center on Monday, December 17 at the Hotel Intercontinental Manila in Makati City.
Cristine added that the support of her loved ones helped her survive the intrigues.
“With the help of my friends and mga taong nagmamahal sa akin, nakakaya (ko ang intriga).”
It will be recalled that Ara filed libel and grave coercion charges against Cristine last April. The dispute is yet to be resolved, although Cristine said she’s continuously trying to reach out to her older sister.

“My sister is not communicating with me and she still doesn’t want to talk to me. So I think hindi pwedeng pilitin so wag nating madaliin,”Cristine explained.
She also said, “Hindi naman ako tumitigil sa pag-reach out.”
As for intrigues about Rayver and the status of their two-year relationship, she mused: “Siguro ganun lang ka-interesado yung mga tao sa mga konting bagay na tampuhan namin, big deal sa kanila. Which, sa akin, is okay naman kasi interesado sila sa amin. Okay pa rin po kami.”

“Feeling ko yung friendship,” Cristine replied.
Unexpected blessings
Intrigues notwithstanding, Cristine said 2012 was actually a very good year for her.
“Para sa akin, 2011 and 2012, ito yung pinakamasaya kong year kasi ang dami kong na-achieve. Box Office Queen na hindi ko naman ineexpect.”
Cristine was referring to the Box Office Queen award she received (with Anne Curtis) from the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation last May for the success of her 2011 film “No Other Woman.”
The actress further said: “As in sa lifetime ko, sa career ko, parang ang dream ko Best Actress. Tapos ang binigay sa akin, Box Office Queen. So parang ako, ‘Thank you, Lord.’ Blessing siya. I’m very happy.”
Cristine had a special role in the comedy movie “The Reunion”earlier this year. She also stars with E.R. Ejercito in the 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival entry “El Presidente,” where she plays Maria Agoncillo-Aguinaldo, first wife of Emilio Aguinaldo (played by Ejercito).

Cristine describes her co-star: “Very professional si Gov. Maalaga. Tuwing darating ako sa set lagging may bouquet of flowers ako. Gentleman. Ramdam na ramdam ko na talagang first lady ako sa set namin.”
“Proud ako kasi kasama ako dun,” she added.
For 2013, she’ll be part of the ABS-CBN soap opera “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin” with Gerald Anderson and boyfriend Rayver.
Her wish for next year? “Next year sana bonggang-bonggang career pa saka sana tuluy-tuloy lang ang blessings.”
Cristine added, “Bagong taon na so bagong buhay, di ba? Kailangan meron kang gagawing bago for New Year.”
