Dixie co-stars in 'Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze' trailer
Dixie's banana-shaped ponytail is going to come in handy throughout "Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze," as she accompanies DK on his journey through climes both warm and cold.
That blonde shock of hair lets Dixie get extra height on her jumps, float for a while, then pummel enemies once she gets back on the ground.
She might not be directly related to giant ape Donkey Kong, as Diddy Kong is, but as Diddy's girlfriend she's been part of the crew since "Donkey Kong Country 2" in 1995.
And though palm trees, blue skies, rope swings and collectible bananas are still part of the action in "Tropical Freeze," there's a bit of a Scandinavian theme running throughout.
Pines and pigeons, castle ruins and icy viaducts, fir-lined mountains and rock-face dwellings found above the clouds all feature alongside sun, sea, and sand-filled levels.
The Wii U game had originally been due this November but has since been put back to February 2014, avoiding a clash with the console's "Super Mario 3D World" in the process.
