Ejay not courting Empress
After their successful tandem in “Guns and Roses,” Ejay Falcon teams up with Empress Schuck again in the new Kapamilya teleserye “Mundo Man ay Magunaw.”
Ejay denied speculations that he is courting his on-screen partner, but said that Empress is his closest female friend.
"Sa ngayon po ay hindi pa po kami dumarating sa point na nanliligaw ako sa kanya. Wala pa pong ganoon. Basta masaya po kami sa pagkakaibigan namin at saka nagtutulungan kami sa trabaho namin," Ejay said at the press conference of “Mundo Man ay Magunaw” in ABS-CBN compound on Wednesday, January 18.
Ejay plays the role of Nicko, a working student who is also the love interest of Empress’ character. “Mundo Man ay Magunaw” is their second teleserye together.
When asked how Empress is to him, “Basta si Empress ang pinakamalapit na babae sa akin ngayon.”
Comfortable with each other
Ejay told the press that they are very comfortable with each other, that they even know each other’s secrets. They also usually go together in social events such as last year’s Star Magic Ball.
“Sya po yung lagi kong kasama at nasasabihan ko ng sikreto sa buhay, at yung mga sikreto din niya, alam ko,” he said.
The young actor and former “Pinoy Big Brother” housemate also denied rumors which say that Empress’ mother doesn’t like him to court Empress.
"Hindi po. Wala naman pong ganoon. Mabait naman po sa akin si Tita," Ejay clarified.
On-screen chemistry
Ejay thinks that their friendship reflects on their good chemistry on screen. He said that they have long known each other, even before they became on-screen pair, which helps them to be comfortable in acting romantic scenes.
“Magkaibigan na po kami dati, bago pa man kami maging love team. So, kampante na kami sa isa’t isa, hindi na nahihiya sa set. Okay na ang lahat, wala nang ilangan kase marami rin kaming mga bagay na pinagkakasunduan,” he said.
The casts of “Mundo Man ay Magunaw” are all praise to Ejay’s performance in the drama. The press even told him that he has already come a long way from being a former PBB housemate and now acting with veteran actors.
“Natuto naman po ako sa mga directors at mga kasama kong artista. Lagi akong nakikinig sa mga advices nila,” Ejay said.
“Mundo Man ay Magunaw” also stars Eula Valdez, Nikki Gil, Sanchez, Tessie Tomas, Pinky Amador, Allan Paule, Dianne Medina, Alex Castro and Jason Gainza. It airs starting January 30 on ABS-CBN Kapamilya Gold.
