Although Ellen Adarna’s relationship with nonshowbiz boyfriend Raoul Olbes is getting stronger, the Kapamilya actress says she has no plans of getting married.

The “Moon of Desire” actress, who reveals that she comes from a liberal family, has mixed feelings about marriage. She wants to have kids first and decide later if she wants to get married or not.

Dad’s consent

“The thing with me is I don't want to get married, I just want kids. I talked to my dad about it before. Actually, he was the one who told me, ‘Don't get married, just have kids.’ He was the one who told me that and he was the one who gave me that idea,” Ellen told reporters on the set of “Moon of Desire” in Antipolo City on Tuesday, July 8.

But she’s not dismissing the possibility of getting married someday.

“I just really want to have kids first. Then if I feel I want to marry the guy, that’s it. O sige, I wanna get married at 38 or 40. I don’t know.”

What’s the fuss?

Ellen added that her boyfriend of almost a year (they have known each other for six years) understands her concern about marriage and kids.

“We’re still together anyway. If tayo forever, what’s the fuss? It’s just a (piece of) paper,” Ellen explains.

FHM’s Top 8 Sexiest shared that Raoul isn’t the jealous type because he feels secure about the relationship.

“I never give him reason to doubt me. I always make him feel secure. Wala naman akong ibang activities, he knows everything I do. I think that also helps a lot, I make an effort also. It takes two to tango,” Ellen said.

Politician suitor?

Asked about a politician who reportedly tried to court her, Ellen revealed that the guy did not woo her but sent a “friendly text” once. Although Ellen did not give the politician’s name, she shared that she worked with him in the movie “Si Agimat at si Enteng Kabisote,” which starred Sen. Bong Revilla.

“He’s in jail! Hindi siya nanligaw, walang panliligaw na naganap. Mo (Twister) asked me (in a podcast interview) kung may mga politicians ba na nagtetext or nagmu-moves, nagtext lang once. Nothing (na) ‘Can we meet up somewhere?’ Walang ganoon.”

As Tamara in “Moon of Desire,” Ellen shared that she did not expect her role to be as big as it is now.

“I’m so happy and very thankful kasi expected before the show started na parang wallflower na may kaunting lines lang. Hindi ko alam na ganito pala ka-bongga ang aking role. But I’m very thankful, I’m learning a lot. It’s hard. It gets harder. Every taping is a challenge because it’s different. It’s always a surprise what’s gonna happen.”
