Emily Blunt signs for 'Animal Crackers'

British actress Emily Blunt

Animated circus comedy "Animal Crackers" has bagged another star name in Emily Blunt of "Edge of Tomorrow" and "Into the Woods."

Blunt has stepped in to play Zoe Huntingdon, part of a circus-owning husband and wife team, and in doing so replaces Kaley Cuoco ("The Big Bang Theory") who withdrew due to other scheduling commitments, reports Deadline.

Already on board for the movie about a magical box of biscuits are John Krasinski, Ian McKellen, Raven-Symoné, Sylvester Stallone, Tara Strong and Danny DeVito among others.

Blue Dream Studios was set up by comic book publisher IDW; it's partnering with China Film Co. and Beijing Wenhua Dongrun Investment Co. to fund the production. Co-directing the CGI adventure are Tony Bancroft ("Mulan") and Scott Christian Sava ("Emperor") for a 2016 release.
