Emma Stone, Steve Carell to play in ‘Battle of the Sexes’
Emma Stone and Steve Carell are taking the 1973 face-off of tennis stars Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs to the big screen, according to The Wrap.
Directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, the script was written by Simon Beaufoy, the Academy Award-winner behind "Slumdog Millionaire."
The 1973 match between King and Riggs became one of sport's most famous moments of the 20th century.
Riggs, who had been one of the world's best players in the 1940s, believed he could challenge any top female player of the day. Dubbed the "Battle of the Sexes", King accepted the challenge and ultimately emerged victorious.
