Enrique wants something new for 2013

Enrique Gil describes 2012 as a “new beginning” because he feels so blessed for having a smooth-sailing career in 2012.

Aside from the primetime hit “Princess and I,” Enrique has done several movies this year, including “The Reunion,” “Amorosa” and the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2012 entry “The Strangers.”

“It feels like a new beginning. Masaya lang. Hopefully next year something new. I want to do something new naman,” Enrique said in an interview at the Sunpiology Run in Venice Piazza, Taguig City.

He did not expect his career to skyrocket to the point that he is now considered one of ABS-CBN’s young leading men. Enrique explained that he just fulfills his responsibility as an actor and doesn’t expect anything in return.

‘O, sige, gagawin ko yung show.’

Enrique is being pitted against “Princess and I” co-star Daniel Padilla. But the two friends insist they’re not competing against each other.

Basta follow the story to see kung sino ang magkakatuluyan in the end,” Enrique said.

Enrique feels relieved fans of other love teams don’t criticize him that much. After all, he’s just doing his job.

Enrique feels excited about “The Strangers,” where he stars with Julia Montes, Enchong Dee and JM de Guzman.

“Kapatid ko si Julia. May journey kami papuntang probinsya. May turn of events na nangyari sa trip na iyon. That’s where the suspense, thriller and action come in.”

Zero love life

Enrique prefers to stay single because he is too busy with his career.

“Wala nga (love life) eh.

He added that he wants to make time for his girlfriend if ever he gets to have one someday.
