Cult movie "Fatal Attraction" is set to return to screens as a one-hour event TV series.

The reimagining of the classic psycho-sexual thriller, originally released in 1987, is being led by Paramount Television Production, Deadline reports. The script will be penned and executively produced by Maria and Andre Jacquemetton, known for their work on "Mad Men".

It is thought that the show will tell the tale of a married man who has an affair he lives to regret. It mimics the plot of the original film, which starred Michael Douglas and Glenn Close and became an instant hit, often referenced for its infamous "bunny boiler" scene.
