First 'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' teaser hits the web

New footage, shared by "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" director Zack Snyder via a tweet is a 12-second teaser of a teaser.

To keep fans engaged and excited until the film's official release in March 2016, Warner Brothers is hosting a special IMAX Trailer Event on Monday, April 20 in the US that is expected to showcase a 15-minute clip of the blockbuster.

The film, both a sequel to Snyder's 2013 "Man of Steel" Superman reboot, and an attempt to kickstart a Justice League franchise -- the DC Comics Universe equivalent to Marvel's Avengers -- will also see Ben Affleck don the Dark Knight's cowl and cape for the first time, a casting decision that had many Batman purists expressing outrage on the web.

Tickets for the IMAX event are in limited supply but an in-depth trailer for the film is also expected to hit cinema screens as a preview ahead "Mad Max: Fury Road," which goes on general release in the US on May 15.
