Gabby’s love advice for KC

Gabby Concepcion may not be the type who meddles in daughter KC Concepcion’s love life,  but he makes sure he’s always  there when she asks for advice.

“Hindi naman ako matanong na, ‘What do you do? What do you do here? What’s your job? Are you serious with my daughter?’,” Gabby said at the press conference of  Star Cinema’s “A Moment in Time,” which he is also a part of, in ABS-CBN compound on Tuesday, February 5.

Gabby also shared that he didn’t get to really interact with KC’s previous boyfriends. KC is reported to be dating French filmmaker Emmanuel Plassart.

“Hindi ko naman inaalam kung sila. Basta ang pagkakakilala lang sa akin, kaibigan. Wala, wala siyang sinasabi na, ‘Pa, this is my boyfriend.’ Wala namang sinasabing ganoon. At tsaka hindi naman ako nagtatanong,” Gabby said.

Heart and mind

As for relationships, Gabby only has one piece of advice for KC.

“Basically, kumukuha siya ng insights sa akin. At madalas ko namang sinasabi na, 'When you fall in love, you first fall in love with your heart. Use your mind also and, basically, just follow your feelings, your instinct.' Sa buhay kasi, hindi naman puwedeng puro puso.”

He is not particular whether KC’s  future boyfriend  comes from showbiz or not.

“Basta ang importante, nagmamahalan sila and they are willing to make it work,” he said.

Gabby observes that young actors have an added edge these days.

“Ang young actors ngayon mas nagiging involved katulad ni Coco (Martin, Gabby’s co-star in ‘A Moment in Time,’), marami sa kanila sa ABS-CBN nagiging involved. Noong araw hindi masyado. Ngayon because of the competition, tougher (ang trabaho). Kailangan ang input at hindi lang katawan at mukha.”

“A Moment in Time,” which will open in cinemas on February 13, also Julia Montes, Cherie Gil, Ella Cruz and Joseph Marco.

Gabby will also be part of the teleserye “Bukas Na Lang Kita Mamahalin,” together with Gerald Anderson and Dawn Zulueta.
