Georgina pays the price for posting Nora’s picture

Georgina Wilson insists she never meant any harm when she posted a Twitpic of Nora Aunor which showed the Superstar’s head superimposed on her (Georgina’s) body

The new Ginebra calendar girl not only withdrew the photo, she apologized to the veteran actress.

“I’m very sorry if I offended Nora and her fans. I won’t offend an institution in showbiz.”

Georgina also denied creating the mock-up image herself.

“A fan (of mine) sent it to me and I felt it would be neat.  I thought it was funny.”

But Noranians  fans disagreed.  They criticized  Georgina for treating their idol that way.

“What I find cute and funny can be offensive to others.  Ang stylist ko, a big Ate Guy fan, tuwang tuwa sa picture.  He said, 'i-post mo yung picture.'  It’s more of a tribute to Nora.”

Wrong move?

Georgina admitted she thought all along the controversial photo came from a Noranian who wanted to pay tribute to the Superstar. So she got "confused" when it became a big issue.

The Filipina-British model said she turned to her aunt, Gloria Diaz for guidance.

“Tita Gloria said people just took it the wrong way,” Georgina recalls.

The controversy has made Georgina feel part of showbiz although her TV appearances are limited to occasional guest stints.

“I feel I’m already in showbiz,” she says.

Georgina is not closing her door on teleseryes, where she counts Piolo Pascual, Dingdong Dantes and ex-boyfriend Richard Gutierrez as ideal leading men because their height matches hers.

But that’s only for on-cam purposes. Off-cam, the 26-year-old Georgina’s relationship with Borgy Manotoc is still going strong.

“He’s happy that I got into shape (for the calendar pictorials),” states Georgina.  “He knows that this is career-changing for me.”

In fact, Georgina says Ilocos governor Imee Marcos, Borgy’s mom, took care of looking for locations in the northern province where the calendar shots were made.
