Gerald happy to be paired with Jessy

Gerald Anderson is happy and thankful he is working with new onscreen partner Jessy Mendiola in the primetime TV drama “Budoy,” where he plays the title role.

Although he and Jessy have worked together in projects like “ASAP Rocks” and “Kung Tayo’y Magkakalayo,” this is the first time they are working as a loveteam.

“Thankful ako na binigyan ako ng ABS-CBN ng napaka-professional at napakaganda at napakabait na leading lady,” Gerald told Yahoo! Philippines OMG! and members of the press during the set visit last week.

Excited

Gerald was excited when he learned he will team up with Jessy. Gerald and Jessy used to be paired with Kim Chiu and the late AJ Perez, respectively.

He admits they don’t know each other that much yet since they haven’t done many scenes together. But they are already working well with each other.

The press who attended the advance screening of “Budoy” last Friday noticed the chemistry between Gerald and Jessy.

Mas tinutulungan niya ako kasi ako yung medyo mas complicated at mahirap yung role ko,” Gerald said.

Alike in many ways

Gerald said Jessy helps him a lot, especially in difficult scenes.  They are also alike in many  ways.

Since they are still getting to know each other more, Gerald doesn’t know yet if they can be more than friends. But Gerald doesn’t see any problems if he develops special feelings for Jessy because he is single like her.

“Tignan natin ‘di ba? Hindi natin masasabi sa ngayon. Alangan namang (sabihin kong) ‘Oo gusto ko.’ Iba yun.

He also dismissed rumors that he is dating someone. Gerald explained  he is too busy with work he can’t  time for love.

So, palagi ako nagtratrabaho,” Gerald said.

Love triangle

Since a love triangle will develop for Gerald, Jessy and Enrique Gil in “Budoy”,  the press asked Gerald if can fall in love with a mentally-challenged person.

“Depende sa sitwasyon,” Gerald replied. But he’s not closing his doors on the possibility.

“Pag may nakilala ko pa na ganoon and gusto mo syang alagaan. Tapos, along the way, na-in love ka, iba eh.

“Budoy” starts airing today in ABS-CBN, after “100 Days to Heaven” and before “My Binondo Girl.”
