Global Art Forum 2015 to focus on technology

The title of Art Dubai's Global Art Forum 2015 is "Download Update?"

The five-day event will focus on the theme of technology and its impact on the world of art, culture and beyond.

Co-directed by Turi Munthe and Sultan Sooud Al Qassemi, the Forum debates how technologies have transformed not only the way we work, but how we think, interact, learn and create.

First launched in 2007 by Art Dubai, the Global Art Forum will this year take place in Kuwait for the first time.

Its talks program will include a debate on the online art market, with directors from leading art dotcoms brought together, the topic of virtual museums in the Arab world and Latin America and conversations with artists working at the forefront of new technologies.

It will also include a look back at the first communication technologies in the Gulf, from newspapers to radio and cinema, and a panel discussion that asks whether we have ‘Too Much Artificial Intelligence'.

Speakers include Jawbone founder Alexander Asseily, Google Cultural Project director Amit Sood and digital education innovator Ayesha Khanna.

The Global Art Forum 2015 will run March 14-15 in Kuwait, March 18-20. For more information see http://artdubai.ae/global-art-forum
