Google distributes new version of Glass designed for professionals

After spending two years on the sidelines, Google Glass internet-linked eyewear is back in the game

The Internet giant is proposing the device to companies in the healthcare, manufacturing and energy industries.

It's strictly for business, and a new consumer version is not expected to surface for at least another year, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The revamped version of Glass reportedly does not include the wire-like frame of its predecessor but rather its mini-computer attaches to eyewear via a button-and-hinge system.

No official launch is scheduled for the device, which Google is hoping to be working in various professional milieus by fall, after software developers work with it to create specific programs.
