Gretchen Barretto said her sister Claudine Barretto is "hallucinating and under the influence of drugs" after the latter called her elder sibling “heartless.”

"How do I debate with one who is clearly hallucinating and is under the influence of drugs and is suffering from severe mental illness? I am not one who would utter words such as 'baboy,' 'lechon,' 'laos' at 'magpakamatay ka na.' I never spoke ill or cursed Sabina nor Santino (Claudine’s children)," Gretchen said in a statement sent to TV Patrol on Monday, May 12.

It will be recalled that in an interview on "Buzz ng Bayan,"  Claudine accused Gretchen of calling her "baboy, lechon and laos." Claudine also said Gretchen "started talking bad about my kids on the phone."

Gretchen denied saying such things to Claudine and cursing her children.

Marriage regrets

Claudine also told "Buzz ng Bayan" that she regrets marrying estranged husband Raymart Santiago again in 2006 because their 2004 marriage was registered a month before they tied the knot in March 2004.

"(I regret) na pinakasalan ko ulit si Raymart nung March 27, 2006 dahil hindi lang ako yung nilinlang niya, kundi ang buong sambayanang Pilipino because hindi pasok iyon. It was fake. I don’t know, hindi niya lang pinasok. Just like our first one on May 2, 2004. It was registered 2006, a month before the March (wedding). Hindi pala kami kasal the whole time. We were living in pala, we were living in sin. So ganoon pala niya ako niloko ng sobra. Ang mali ko doon, I should have backed out na. Pinasok niya iyon, yung Isabela kasal namin nung February 2006. Nakakahiyang magback-out."

Raymart’s denial

Raymart, for his part, denied that their marriage is fake.

"Hindi namin maintindihan kung paanong sasabihin na fake, eh di sana hindi na sila ngayon nagpapakahirap sa kaso, hindi na nila iniisip yung annulment," Raymart's lawyer Ruth Castelo said.

She added, "Na-late lang naman ng pag-register. But the fact is, it is still registered. It is not fake."

Asked about Claudine's claims that someone tried to harm her in their house, the lady lawyer replied, "We did our own investigation. In the barangay office of Malanday, where the house is located. We found out there was no such thing, walang slug na recovered. There was no such thing."
