Greyson in Manila: 'Touring is one of my favorite things’

From being a YouTube sensation, 14-year-old singer Greyson Chance has released his debut album, toured in different countries and gained fans worldwide.

Just a year after Greyson was discovered by TV host Ellen DeGeneres on YouTube with his performance of Lady Gaga’s “Paparazzi,” he is now touring all over the world to promote his debut album “Hold On ‘til the Night.”

Greyson, a music genius, wrote six songs in the album, which was first released last August. “Waiting Outside the Lines” is Greyson’s first single, followed by “Unfriend You.”

“It’s just so surreal. I’ve been working on this album for a year. It’s so surreal to actually have it and be able to hold it in my hands. And it hit number 2 in the iTunes pop chart. It’s absolutely crazy,” Greyson said in a previous interview with Ellen.

Other tracks included in his album are “Home is in Your Eyes,” “Heart Like Stone,” “Little London Girl,”  “Cheyenne,”  “Summertrain,”  “Stranded,”  and “Take a Look at Me Now.”  “Hold On ‘til The Night”  album is released locally by MCA Music.

Big things continue to happen for Greyson, having appeared on the TV drama “Raising Hope.”  He also has been always expressing his desire to act in Fox’s TV musical “Glee.”

Greyson shared that he loves to tour to interact with his fans.

Greyson arrived in Manila on Friday, November 18, to promote his new album and meet his Filipino fans on Saturday, November 19 and Sunday, November 20.

“Ever since January, I’ve been on the road. Being on tour is one of my most favourite things in the world. To be able to see how the fans are everywhere,” Greyson said in ‘The Ellen DeGeneres’ show.

He shared how his life changed since he started as a professional singer.

“One time, we went to a mall or an in-store signing in Long Island and two hundred people showed up. And that time it was so huge for me. And then we went back (to the same mall) and the security hated us, there are around two thousand girls there. I spoke to my manager and they told me that there’s no way we can do the signing there. But me and my manager were like, ‘No, we’re going out there.’ So, we went out and sign things,” Greyson shared.

Greyson will be having a special two-night performance organized by MCA Music and Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. Catch Greyson in Eastwood Mall Open Park at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 19 and on Sunday, November 20 in Venice Piazza Mall McKinley Hill at 8 p.m. for a meet and greet.
