'Halo 5' trailers herald October date

Two new trailers for "Halo 5: Guardians" announce an October 27 release date for the highly anticiapted Xbox One title.

Of the live-action pieces, one takes place from the persepctive of series protagonist super-soldier Master Chief, the other from that of his adversary, military manhunter Jameson Locke.

"Halo 5: Guardians" will be the first game in the "Halo" franchise developed exclusively for Xbox One.

The previous numbered games in the series had been released for Xbox One in November 2014, along with an invitation to the multiplayer beta for "Halo 5: Guardians."
