Heart believes Miriam will be okay
Heart Evangelista is asking for prayers for the recovery of her friend, Senator Miriam Santiago, who recently admitted she has a stage 4 lung cancer.
“She has served as strength to a lot of people too. She means a lot to us, so we should pray for her. With her strength and with our God, I’m sure she will be okay,” the Yahoo Celebrity 2014 Female TV Host of the Year nominee told viewers of Startalk on Saturday, July 5.
Heart is confident her politician-friend will triumph over cancer, for which she is being treated for six weeks.
“The way she said it, she was very strong. Na parang hindi ako masyado nagwo-worry. Kasi siguro dapat super iyak na ako ngayon if I’m worrying kasi parang nanay ko na siya eh.”
Heart explained that Miriam seems to be okay because “the cancer is concentrated only on one area and she’s taking medications to fight it.
“She said in a few days she will be fine, so not to worry daw,” the actress-TV host added.
Heart just came back from a trip to Europe with her boyfriend, Senator Chiz Escudero. She denied rumors that Chiz has proposed to her during their trip abroad.
“When it’s about marriage, it’s something very serious. There’s a very sensitive side about my parents, so it’s something we’re very careful. We plan our lives together but it’s something we wanna plan carefully. It’s something that we will plan and talk about someday. Just not yet. Wait lang.”
