Heart Evangelista has finally checked “graduate from high school” off her to-do list.

The 29-year-old TV host/actress told Yahoo Philippines it was last February when the results of the Department of Education’s (DepEd) Alternative Learning System Accreditation & Equivalency (ALS A&E) Test came out.

"I had major tutoring. I would study four hours a day before I took my exam,” she recalled at the shoot of Pond’s, a brand she endorses.

221,598 examiners took the ALS A&E test in October last year. About one third (72,076), including Heart, passed.

The DepEd program targets school drop-outs, homeschool and those who have not attended the formal school system. Passers get a diploma similar to that of the formal school.

Off to college

Philippine senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero’s girlfriend said she is considering college—with three courses in mind.

"I had three major things I’m planning [to take up],” she said.

On top of the list is her boyfriend’s course: Bachelor of Law.

“My Tita Miriam (Santiago) wanted me to take up Law, which is kinda impossible, but it was a dream.”

Another far-fetched course for the dog lover is Veterinary Medicine.

“But it would take me forever to finish that.”

Heart would most likelystudy Fine Arts, close to the artist route she’s she's taking when she recently unveiled Love Marie Ongpauco (her real name) the painter.

“It’s something connected to what I’m doing which is the arts, so definitely I’d like to try to go to UP (University of the Philippines), but I’ll see what I can do with my schedule.”

Earning from Love Marie’s artwork

With or without a college diploma though, the future looks bright for the Yahoo Celebrity Awards Female TV Host of the Year nominee.

The celebrity painter said she felt so blessed on the opening night of her first one-woman exhibit “I am Love Marie - The Art and works of Love Marie Ongpauco” at the Ayala Museum in May.

It took Heart one year to finish all the 20 paintings on exhibit, she revealed in the July issue of Lifestyle Asia. The one-year prep is quite a feat for neophyte art exhibitors like her.

She sold smaller pieces at P30,000 each, while the massive magna opera costs P300,000 per.

The lifestyle magazine reported some people are comparing Love Marie’s works with that of Gustav Klimt’s, a Vienna secession art nouveau master.

The Pinay painter didn’t mind the comparison at all.

“When I saw it, I thought, “My God, maybe I was reincarnated or something ‘coz it’s super the same, and I love his works!”
