Heart Evangelista preparing to become Mrs. Chiz Escudero

It’s only a matter of time before Heart Evangelista becomes Mrs. Chiz Escudero.

Heart told Yahoo Philippines that she’s preparing to become the senator’s wife.

“Well I think we've set, like he already fixed his household and everything. So eventually I'm probably going to move in to that,” she said at Cream Silk at 30 anniversary party.

The 29-year-old Kapuso actress, who’s very vocal about how sheltered she was before meeting Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero, relates that she has learned the basics of becoming a wife.

“It's not really so much an effort for me to learn how to cook and everything 'cause there's already a cook. But you know, little things… I've learned to cook na rin and stuff, and I'm also very domesticated myself so I think I won't have a hard time adjusting.”

Chain-smoker Chiz quits bad habit

The senator must have thought about their 15-year age gap when he quit smoking  recently.

“That's good, because now that we've found each other in this crazy world, we'd like to really live a long life together. And I'm so thrilled, so happy and super supportive that he quit smoking,” the Cream Silk brand ambassador said.  

Heart added, “Now he gets to do other things he never got to do before, like he can run, he's on the treadmill longer and then he's eating nice. So it's really nice that he's taken that shift in life.”

On becoming future First Lady

While the name of the 44-year-old senator is among those being floated in presidential surveys, Heart said she’s fine with not taking on the glamorous job of First Lady.

“Many people ask me if he's going to run for a higher position. Honestly, I don't hear him or he doesn't do anything. It’s funny because they probably think na all about politics - eat and they play and that's all they talk about. But no, we just really talk about our life together.”

Heart, who first had a taste of the limelight at 15, added that she’d rather have a quiet life with the Bicolano politician.

“If it's really for him, then it's for him. But if it's not, I'm really okay with just being Mrs. Escudero. I've had my fill of being in the public eye, so I'm already okay with just living a quiet life.”

Instant mommy

Heart also related that she has a good relationship with Chiz’s  seven-year-old fraternal twins Maria Cecilia and Joaquin Cruz, his children by former wife Christine Elizabeth Flores.

“Actually in the beginning, I was very confused or I was afraid how I could handle that role. Because you know it's not easy. You question yourself. ‘Are you a good example? How do you behave in front of them?” Heart  shared. “But you know Chiz raised them so well. They're so cute, they're the sweetest kids ever and I'm so close to them, they're so close to my heart. So it just works out well without forcing it.”

The twins call her Tita Heart because she doesn’t want to replace their mother.

“I'm never gonna be their mom, but I'll always going to be their Tita Heart so I'm already happy with that.”
