Hello, Coco; goodbye, Xian?

The KimXi (Kim Chiu-Xian Lim) love team is taking a break to give way to the Kapamilya actress’ new leading man,  Coco Martin.

"Parang it's time for growth na rin siguro," Kim said at the press conference of "Ikaw Lamang," which casts Coco as her new leading man.

Kim and Coco’s acting styles vary.  While Kim takes on light and dramatic roles, Coco has long established himself as a serious dramatic actor.

Leveling up

"Sobra akong thankful na mapasama sa proyektong ito. Macha-challenge ko rin ang sarili ko kung kaya kong lumevel sa kanilang lahat," Kim said.

The actress explained that her new team-up with Coco has been in the drawing board,  even before she did "Bride for Rent" with Xian.

"Alam ko na na may teleserye kaming gagawin ni Coco. Kahit hindi pa lumabas kung ilan yung kinita ng pelikula (Bride for Rent) kung magkano na yung inabot, alam ko na na ipapartner na kami ni Coco."

Kim dismissed speculations that recent issues surrounding them, including mixed reactions Xian got over his remarks to the former’s impersonator, is the reason why the KimXi loveteam was shelved.

Supportive Xian

She shared that Xian is happy for her new project and is confident  KimXi fans, who are very  protective of their love team, will support her new tandem with Coco.

"Iba yung pakiramdam na mapabilang sa teleseryeng ito. Yung suporta ng mga fans, andoon pa rin naman. Hindi pa rin naman nawawala. Nagpromise sila na susuportahan nila yung projects namin ni Xian at mas dodoblehin nila yung support sa mga ginagawa namin ngayon."

KIm clarified that she and Xian are still a love team and will  be doing a new movie late this year.

"May movie kami na gagawin this third quarter. Si Xian rin meron siyang teleserye na gagawin. So, wala namang pagbubuwag."

"Ikaw Lamang," which will start airing on March 10, also stars Julia Montes and Jake Cuenca.
