How Nikki changed Billy
Although Billy Crawford and Nikki Gil has been a couple for three years now, not much has been heard about their relationship. Press people might see it as boring, but Billy doesn’t see anything wrong with their non-controversial relationship.
At the presscon of MSE (Marikina Shoe Exchange) last Sept. 5 at Richmonde Hotel in Eastwood City, Billy opened up about his relationship with Nikki.
His loving girlfriend, admits Billy, has changed him for the better.
“Siguro sya mismo ang nagpalapit sa akin sa Panginoon. I’m more open in that aspect. Nawala yung bigat (ng pakiramdam). Wala na rin akong dapat patunayan. I changed not just for Nikki. Kailangan kong magmature para sa sarili ko,” Billy said.
Billy seemed to be surprised when the press told him that their long-running relationship is somewhat boring. However, Billy said that he is indeed happy of their quiet relationship.
“Ako happy ako na walang issue ang relationship namin. Kung boring ang relationship namin, sino ba ang nasa relationship namin, kaming dalawa di ba?,” Billy said.
Billy told the press that he and Nikki are not the type who would divulge everything that is happening in their relationship.
“So, kung enjoy naman kami sa isa’t isa, sorry na lang kung hindi kami controversial at hindi namin gustong ipakita yung buhay naming sa buong mundo,” Billy added.
The singer-TV host also said that he would rather let people know things about their relationship coming from them, rather than have other people spread things about him and Nikki.
“Sorry na lang kung medyo na-ano ako sa boring yung relationship namin. Hindi kase ako pacontroversial. Mas lalong ayaw ko na mapagusapan kami through other people, mga salita ng ibang tao. Mas gusto ko yung nanggagaling sa amin,” Billy said.
Billy is grateful that he has a good relationship with Nikki and her family. As his parents both reside in the US, Billy considers Nikki’s family as his own.
“Ako wala akong mashadong pamilya dito eh. May dad and my mom are in the States. Yung kapatid ko dito is always at work, I hardly see him. Si Nikki almost everyday kong nakikita. Yung family nila Nikki, ino-open nila yung bahay nila para sa akin,” Billy said.
Billy and Nikki came from previous relationships, but they don’t make a big issue out of it as they have moved on and just think about their present relationship.
“We both made a pact na whatever happened in our past, na-open na namin sa isa’t isa. Hindi na namin kailangan pang balik-balikan. Just move on and be happy with what you have,” Billy said.
Although their relationship seems to be quiet and peaceful, Billy admits they also have their share of misunderstandings. But they easily work things out before they get bigger.
“Hindi na kami normal nun pag hindi kami nag-aaway. Of course, nagkakatampuhan rin. May mga diskusyon rin na hindi nya gusto. Ako kasi, kapag alam kong may problema sa amin, gusto ko pinag-uusapan naming,” Billy said.
And what’s the secret of their relationship?
“Nagpapakatotoo lang sa isa’t isa. We just have to trust and be open to each other,” Billy replied.
