Instagram tries to woo jaded users by providing 'email highlights’

The average person dedicates over 100 minutes everyday to social media, according to GlobalWebIndex

Four and a half years old is no longer youth for companies in the technosphere and Instagram is already applying anti-aging techniques.

An email digest called ‘Highlights' shares via email the best posts from the users you follow, reports TechCrunch.

It's the first email service to come from the app, and while it hopes to reengage users who have looked the other way, TechCrunch speculates that not everyone may wish to receive extra email in the age of spam.

They say the new feature could, however, help users filter their content, weeding out the compulsive posters and seeing more of their real friends' posts.
