International design stars on display in Milan

One of the world's leading interior design trade shows, the Milan Furniture Fair brought the industry's biggest names together under one roof. Here are some of the products featured at the event from the top design hot-shots.

Zaha Hadid
The internationally renowned architect, who was recently commissioned to design the Abu Dhabi Performing Arts Centre, designed a stunning collection in marble for the Italian furniture brand Citco, including flower-shaped vases and coffee tables in organic shapes.

Philippe Starck
The darling of the French design world saw his classic Madame chair, which is produced by Kartell, covered in colorful and modern fabrics by the Italian fashion house Pucci.

Ron Arad
For Moroso, the Israeli designer came up with two highly original sofas. Glider is made from a single solid piece of foam that has been sculpted and upholstered in a bold red and purple fabric. More understated but no less creative, the Matrizia sofa calls to mind a discarded mattress.

Nendo
The Japanese design studio led by Oki Sato created the Kurage lamp collection for Foscarini, together with Italian designer Luca Nichetto. The lamps are inspired by Japanese Tanka poems.

Patricia Urquiola
For Glas Italia, the Spanish designer concocted the Shimmer collection, featuring coffee tables, shelves and side tables in colored glass. For Moroso, she designed the round and curvaceous Lilo armchair and Bold sofa. The same rounded style can be found in her chair for Kettal, the Kettal Roll.
