Introducing CYLO, 'the ultimate urban bicycle'

Former Nike design director Eric Duvauchelle has launched CYLO, "the ultimate urban bicycle."

Designed for both speed and all-day comfort, the slick CYLO One model features several design details to make riding easier, including a rear brake light, integrated lights and a silent carbon belt drive that keeps pant cuffs clean.

Dynamo-powered LED lights mean that riders won't have to worry about changing batteries, while integrating the luminaires means they shouldn't be forgotten or stolen.

The bike's frame is a minimalist monochrome structure, featuring clean, strong lines. It is available in Poppy Red as well as classic high gloss white or black.

"We wanted to make a bike that would make heads turn, a no-compromise machine for the discerning modern rider," says Eric.

The former Nike designer launched CYLO with his brother Antoine, and the brand's name is a mixture of ‘cycle' and ‘vélo,' as a nod to the pair's French upbringing.

"CYLO is our vision of the perfect urban bicycle," explains Eric Duvauchelle. "So simple you'll wonder how you lived for so long without it.

"It will take you right back to the feeling you had as a kid on hot summer days, freely exploring as you coasted down the street on your first adventure."

The duo is in the process of finalizing the prototype and will be launching a crowdfunding campaign soon. The estimated price is $2199.
