Is a Daniel Padilla-Ella Cruz team-up in the works?

Ella Cruz, star of  the just-concluded fantaserye "Aryana"  denied reports that she’ll be paired with heartthrob Daniel Padilla. She admits getting slightly hurt over criticisms about her rumored project with  Daniel, who is more associated with Kathryn Bernardo.

"Kasi hindi ko rin naman alam yung issue na makakatambal ko si Daniel. Wala rin naman akong nababalitaan na movie or project together," Ella said at the press conference of the movie "A Moment in Time" in ABS-CBN compound on Tuesday, February 5.

Ella says she is still looking forward to working  with Daniel, even as she admits he and Kathryn have a strong following.

"Sana po kahit papaaano ma-clear yung issue na hindi po kami makakatambalan ni Daniel. at kung sakali man, ang masasabi ko lang ay looking forward ako diyan. Pero kung hindi kakagat, okay lang po sa akin kasi sobrang solid ng Kathnie (Kathryn-Daniel)  fans."

Ella is willing to be paired with any actor or to work with former “Aryana” ‘leading men Dominique Roque, Paul Salas and Francis Magundayao.

"Siguro ako sa iba na lang, kay Francis na lang ulit ako or sa iba."

While she and Kathryn haven't talked  about the issue, Ella said their friendship, which dates  back to their “Going Bulilit” days, has remained.

"Simula noon hindi pa kami ulit nagkakasama. Hindi rin kami masyado nagkakausap kasi sa ASAP lang kami nagkikita at busy rin sila sa movie nila. Wala naman po kaming issue ni Kathryn. Nag-uusap naman kami," Ella said.

She is excited to work with  friend and fellow "Going Bulilit" costar Julia Montes again in "A Moment in Time," which also topbills Coco Martin.

"Simula nung nagkaroon kami ng movie, mas naging close kami. Ilang years rin yung agwat na hindi kami nagkasa."

Ella feels "honored and blessed" to star with Coco, whom she has always wanted to work with.

"Madami akong natutunan sa kanya at sobrang bait at maaalaga niya. Sa bawat eksen,.a, mararamdaman mo yungmga emosyon niya, pati ikaw madadala."

"A Moment in Time," which opens in cinemas on Wednesday, February 13,  also stars Gabby Concepcion, Cherie Gil and Joseph Marco.
