Ja Rule can reportedly “cook anything” in a microwave.
The 37-year-old rapper was released from prison in May after serving nearly two years behind bars for tax evasion and attempted criminal possession of a weapon.
According to Page Six, Ja Rule learned how to prepare gourmet meals in his jail cell and he will share his recipes in a book.
“He explained that while behind bars he learned to cook anything and everything in a microwave,” the insider noted.
The musician shared insights about his “microwaveable” project at the New York City Wine & Food Festival on Geoffrey Zakarian’s SiriusXM show Food Talk.
During the broadcast Ja Rule was surrounded by high-profile chefs including Guy Fieri, Bobby Flay and Marcus Samuelsson.
He has spoken previously about how passionately he dislikes prison food.
The star said he learned how to make dishes like lasagna and cheesecake with the aid of a microwave.
“[The food inside] is not too good but you get packages and stuff like that. You can eat pretty good. You can eat decent enough,” he told TMZ recently.
“I ate everything. In jail, they're pretty crafty. We made lasagna, we made cheesecakes, we had lots of things. I really didn't eat prison food.
“I didn't go to the chow line too much. We usually just cooked in our dorm. Yeah, yeah, we cooked our own stuff. So what we made was pretty decent. It wasn't bad.”© Cover Media
