JC De Vera has signed a two-year exclusive contract with ABS-CBN on Monday, (July 29)  cutting his ties with TV5, his mother network for three years.

His new manager Leo Dominguez accompanied the 27-year-old actor during the contract signing at Eugenio Lopez, Jr. building, ABS-CBN’s corporate headquarters in Quezon City. The network’s president and CEO, Charo Santos-Concio welcomed their latest Kapamilya, along with Channel Head Cory Vidanes, TV Production Head Laurenti Dyogi and Business Unit Head Deo Endrinal.

According to ABS-CBN ad and promo manager Biboy Arboleda, JC will be co-managed by Leo Dominguez and Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent management and development arm.

Though JC’s first project with ABS-CBN remains confidential, reports say the actor is set to star in an upcoming teleserye.

Goodbye, TV5

According to a source in TV5, JC was seen taping for “Cassandra: Warrior Angel,” his last project with the network, two weeks ago. The primetime series will air its finale on August 2.

It is not immediately known whether TV5 made a counter-offer to retain one of their biggest stars. It can be recalled that JC moved to TV5 last March 2010 after being a Kapuso for seven years.

His contract with talent manager Annabelle Rama expired last June.
