Jericho Rosales has no pre-wedding jitters
Two days before he marries model Kim Jones in Boracay, Jericho Rosales can hardly wait for the big day to come.
"I'm very excited, I cannot wait. I'm the most excited and pinaka-chillax na groom-to-be," Jericho said at the pocket press conference of "The Legal Wife."
He revealed that like him, Kim doesn't have pre-wedding jitters, although she’s a bit stressed with all the preparations.
‘Medyo stressed’
"She's good. Sometimes medyo I feel na medyo stressed. But ako, I feel a little bit bad because I'm very busy and I wish that I had more time."
Jericho added, "But okay naman kami, nahahandle naman namin ng maayos."
The Kapamilya actor shared that they even practice their wedding ceremony on their own.
"Naglagay siya ng towel sa ulo niya. Kunwari ito na yung part na tatanggalin mo yung veil. Pagtanggal niya, biglang umiyak. 'Bakit ka umiiyak?' 'It feels so real, it feels so real, (she replied)."
Small wedding
Kim and Jericho, who both love surfing, will have a garden wedding and a beach reception on Thursday, May 1.
"Families and mostly friends na involved sa relationship naming dalawa. It's a very small wedding. Intimate, won't be televised," he said.
Since Jericho is still busy with his hit teleserye "The Legal Wife," the couple has decided to postpone their honeymoon.
“After the wedding, I have to go back to 'The Legal Wife.' I have a few days’ break. And then we both decided na we'll do it in June or August," Jericho said.
Honeymoon destination
He didn't reveal where they want to spend their honeymoon.
"We're definitely going somewhere. Syempre kailangan andoon pa yung init ng kakakasal nyo lang."
Jericho is learning all about a lifetime commitment while playing an unfaithful husband in "The Legal Wife."
"As a man who's gonna get married, I think that's the first thing you have to deal with bago ka ikasal. Doon sa for better or for worse, you have to focus on the 'for worse' because things are gonna get worse."
Realistic expectations
Jericho has realistic expectations about marriage. He said that he and Kim have to love and be there for each other for better or for worse.
"Lalaglag na yung balat natin, babaho na yung hininga natin, wala na tayong time sa isa't isa, lahat na nang pangit sabihin na natin. But we have to get ready for that because we won't live for our own. As an individual, as a single person, we live for someone else. We live in this life because we have a purpose, we have to live for someone."
Jericho wants God to be at the center of their relationship.
"What causes it (infidelity) is lack of foundation. Me as a Christian, Jesus is my foundation. When I fear God, I would fear hurting that woman." he said.
