John to stand as father to Camille’s son

With the early demise of Camille Prats’ husband Anthony Linsangan, her brother John Prats revealed that he will stand as father to Camille’s son, Nathaniel Caesar.

Anthony succumbed to nasopharyngeal cancer Friday, September 23. He was 31. Anthony was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer three months after their church wedding on March 5, 2010.

In an interview with “The Buzz,” John recalled how Anthony fought the disease and how his family supports Camille in these trying times.

“Kami naman, andito kami lagi for Camille. For me, kahit sa pamangkin ko, anak ko na sya. Yun na yun,” John said.

The “Happy Yipeee Yehey” host recalled his brother-in-law’s ordeal before he succumbed to cancer. John said  they all hoped Anthony will survive  cancer as he went through all kinds of treatments such as chemotherapy and radiation.

“Full of hope na talagang gagaling. Hanggang sa dumating na yung point na ilang radiation and chemotherapy yung kinuha nya, pumayat na sya,” John shared.

He added that Anthony stopped medication and just resorted to pain management three months ago.

“Sya na yung nagsabi sa amin na ‘I think I have to stop. Kase if ituloy ko pa yung next session ko, I think I’m gonna die,’” John revealed.

According to John, Anthony tried to fight the disease since he wanted to take care of his young family. Camille and Anthony have been married for three years.

“‘Lalaban talaga ako, I’m not gonna give up. I’m not gonna give up,’ yun yung nakita ko kay Anthony. Gusto nyang makitang lumaki ang anak nya, maalagaan nya si Camille. Full of dreams,” John said.

John recalled before Anthony passed away, he was brought to Makati Medical Center last week because his blood pressure dropped and he was having convulsions.

“After Happy (Happy Yipee Yehey), takbo aka kaagad doon. Mga around 2 or 3 pm. Nasa room na sya. Pagdating namin doon, ang daming mga nakakabit sa kanya. That was the worst na nakita ko sya, hirap na talaga sya,” John said.

As early as now, John is ready to support and guide his three-year-old nephew.

“Kumbaga, nai-imagine ko na na kapag may mga PTA meetings, ako yung pupunta, sasamahan ko si Camille. I will be the father. Ako yung tatayong ama nya hanggang paglaki,” John added.
