Batangueno singer Jovit Baldovino wants to be more than a singer.  He wants to become a lawyer.

This is why the  20-year-old singer doesn’t want to stop studying once he gets his degree in Criminology, where he is now on his sophomore year. He wants to take up  Law.

Parang ang lakas ng dating mo," Jovit said in a pocket interview last  Wednesday, April 23, for "Rock & Soul", his concert with Thor.

Studies and showbiz

The mainstay of the Sunday noontime variety show "ASAP" explains how he juggles his time between studies and showbiz.

Jovit doesn’t mind singing and studying at the same time, because he has to earn for his family.

Fourth album

Jovit plans to do his fourth album this May, and to explore other genres aside from rock ballad.  Jovit is aware of the tough competition in the music industry, so he wants to step up.

Jovit is a multi-tasker.  He also wants to venture into acting. That’s why he’s taking an acting workshop under director Rahyan Carlos. Jovit has two acting credits to his name --  the TV shows  "Idol" in 2010 and "Growing Up" in 2011.

Advice to singers

Stardom didn't come easy for Jovit. He sold siomai and joined various singing contests until he emerged grand winner in the first season of  "Pilipinas Got Talent,” and doors started opening for him.

At siyempre huwag kalimutan kung saan kayo nanggaling," he advised.

"Rock & Soul" will be held at Music Museum on Saturday, May 17.
