Judy Ann loses 40 lbs., responds to Sharon’s rumored transfer

A much slimmer Judy Ann Santos appeared to the press Wednesday, Nov. 16, when she introduced the top 12 finalists of ABS-CBN’s “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition.”

She answered issues about her weight loss as well as her take on the rumored transfer of megastar Sharon Cuneta to TV5.

Judy Ann looked stunning in an orange sleeveless dress, revealing that she lost the 40 pounds she gained when she was pregnant with her firstborn, Lucho.

“120 pounds ako ngayon. 'Yun naman ang weight ko bago ako nabuntis. Nagji-gym, nag-jogging, nag-yoga,” she said.

Judy Ann said husband Ryan Agoncillo supports her decision to lose weight. Judy Ann and Ryan are currently filming “Househusband,” an entry to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

“Siya ang unang tao na nagsasabi sa akin kung nag-lose na ako ng weight at siya ang unang tao na naaawa sa akin kasi nakikita niya kung paano ako magpigil sa mga kinakain ko," she added.

Sharon, deserving of offers

Judy Ann also addressed Sharon Cuneta’s rumored plan to transfer to TV5.  While she hasn’t yet spoken to the megastar, who she considers one of her closest friends in showbiz, Judy Ann said she will support whatever Sharon decides.

"Basta kung saan siya magiging masaya at aalagaan nang husto, doon ako. Kasi deserving siya. Megastar siya at pinaghirapan niya kung anuman siya ngayon,” she said.

She knows their relationship will never change, even if she admitted that the move would sadden her.

“Kasi sanay ako na doon ko siya nakikita,” she said, referring to their home studio of ABS-CBN. “Lumaki ako na doon kami magkasama. Pero anuman ang mangyari, irespeto natin ang desisyon ni Ate.”

Juday also got offers from other networks

Just like other stars, Judy Ann admitted that she also received offers from other networks.

She was candid enough to admit that she does think of moving when issues crop up with ABS-CBN.

“Kasi kapag may issue ka sa mother network mo, kapag may tampo ka, ang unang papasok sa isip mo 'ayaw ko na, lilipat na ako,'" she explained.

"But then again, mag-uusap kayo at maayos at magkakaintindihan, ganoon lang naman 'yon,” she added.

 ‘MasterChef’ for grown-ups?

Asked if she would do a TV drama when her comeback project “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition” ends, Judy Ann said, “I'm still having talks with ABS-CBN about a new show and most probably, magko-concentrate ako sa ‘Junior MasterChef’  pag may Season 2 and an adult version as well.”

Being with “Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition” has been a breath of fresh air for Judy Ann, a culinary school graduate. It is also her first hosting gig.

She said that the top 12 finalists of the show will go through all-new challenges as they get closer to choosing the very first Pinoy Junior MasterChef. The “Super 12” is composed of Bianca, Phillip, Mika, Tricia, Patrick, Miko, Emman, Caitlin, Iain, Kyle, Jobim, and Acee.

“Junior MasterChef Pinoy Edition” airs every Saturday and Sunday evening on ABS-CBN.
