Julie Anne, Elmo to star in a movie next year
The popularity of “Party Pilipinas” duo Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magalona can no longer be denied, especially now that they’re slated to star in their very own movie.
Tentatively titled “Just One Summer,” it will see the Julie-Elmo tandem topbilling a project outside their “Party Pilipinas” performances for the first time.
Besides being a regular in the Sunday variety show, they are also part of the weekly sitcom “Andres de Saya” with Cesar Montano and Iza Calzado.
“Just One Summer” will be produced by GMA Films and is slated to come out early next year.
Julie Anne, who first entered the entertainment industry via the reality talent show “Popstar Kids,” is excited to work with Elmo in what could be her biggest break yet.
“Malaking opportunity po (yung movie) para sa akin,” she said in a taped interview with GMA News TV's “In The Limelight” aired yesterday, August 16. “Masayang masaya po kami na mabigyan ng opportunity na mabigyan po ng movie. Nakakaflatter na masaya.”
Julie added, “Kaming dalawa ni Elmo, comfortable kami sa isa't isa. And, nage-enjoy din po kami sa mga production numbers (sa 'Party Pilipinas') saka sa mga ginagawa po namin. So, parang, mas nakikilala po namin ang isa't isa.”
Would Julie Anne be willing to have a kissing scene with Elmo? The young actor-rapper, after all, is said to have a kissing scene with Sam Pinto in the upcoming “Tween Academy: Class of 2012.”
“Syempre po, kailangan po namin gawin kung ano yung nararapat, kung ano po yung nasa story or ano yung nasa script, or kung ano yung ibigay yung direktor sa amin,” she said.
Julie Anne also has a cameo role in “Tween Academy.”
