Kapuso stars in 'Profiles' catalogue

GMA Artist Center (GMAAC) contract artists featured in the just-launched magazine “Profiles” are now being eyed as celebrity endorsers of various companies.

PREF Media President, CEO and Publisher of Profiles magazine Rosemarie Basa shared the good news at the event's presscon a few days ago.

The magazine had a red carpet launch last Nov. 8 at the Rizal Ballroom of the Makati Shangri-la Hotel, where Rosemarie remarked that the "Profiles' launch was meant for these businessmen, for them to see the young talents and the beauty and the glamour of GMAAC's artists."

Present at the event were GMA Network President and CEO Felipe L. Gozon and GMAAC Head Ida Henares, real estate developers, the entertainment press and artists of GMAAC.

Nine cover versions

The magazine’s maiden issue  features nine cover versions - Iza Calzado, Rhian Ramos, Jackie Rice, Tim Yap, Aljur Abrenica and his leading ladies Bella Padilla and Kris Bernal, Lovi Poe, Solenn Heusaff, young and rising Kapuso TV hosts Stephanie Henares, Luane Dy, Jace Flores and Gino dela Pena, Sarah Lahbati and Gwen Zamora.

Also included are insets of popular Kapuso stars like Sen. Bong Revilla, Rep. Manny Pacquiao, Cesar Montano, the hosts of "Star Talk," Ogie Alcasid, and the cast of "Bubble Gang" and  "Pepito Manaloto."

Gozon expressed delight and confidence over the  future of “Profiles”.

He is proud of the fact that through the years, the network was able to build a sizeable stable of outstanding television talents.

Faces of GMA 7

"As far as the public is concerned, they make up the face of GMA 7. And I have to say that they are beautiful and handsome faces. But upon these faces, there's so much more that they are specializing in more than what the viewing public can see. It is in this regard that I'm so pleased that starting today there will be a magazine devoted to showing further the hearts and soul of these talented people," Gozon said in  his speech.

He added that he is honored “Profiles” started its journey by featuring the artists of GMA7. In each of the succeeding issues of the magazine, Kapuso fans, as well as showbiz aficionados will get the chance to know what makes GMAAC talents tick.

"Above all, people will see why we at GMA believe in putting them in front of the cameras," Gozon added.

The launch was directed by Freddie Santos, with Bong Gacho providing the production design. GMAAC homegrown talents La Diva, Frencheska Farr and Julie Ann San Jose among others performed production numbers.

Rhian commented, "It's always nice that there are magazines like `Profiles.’ It gives people awareness of GMA's artists and our talents. In every interview I give and every cover I do it feels like I'm talking to the public. It feels like I've grown to know more people personally."
