Karylle approves of mom Zsa Zsa's boyfriend
Kapamilya singer-TV host Karylle is happy for her mom Zsa Zsa Padilla, who is in a relationship with renowned architect Conrad Onglao.
Karylle only has good words for Conrad, whom Zsa Zsa said “brought back the smile (to her).”
Nice and very sweet
“Tito Conrad is a nice guy and he's very sweet. He's very thoughtful. And I love that he cooks well and that he's very big with family,” Karylle said at the Yahoo Celebrity Awards night on Friday, July 18, when she and Vice Ganda were proclaimed Love Team of the Year.
Karylle, who married Spongecola vocalist Yael Yuzon last March, has a piece of advice for her mom and Conrad, who are reportedly getting married months from now.
“Ewan ko, may balita ba (about the wedding)? I think we'll cross the bridge when we get there. For now, I think it's nice for them to enjoy what they have. Kasi kapag nahahaluan na ng mga talks na ganyan, medyo may nawawala din. Syempre after ligawan, i-enjoy muna yung honeymoon phase.”
If the wedding pushes through, Karylle will not get in the way and will give her full support.
Honeymoon phase
“I'm very okay with everything. I just want them to enjoy what they have right now, which is the honeymoon phase. Huwag na muna natin pangunahan ang mga pangyayari.”
Meanwhile, Karylle is thankful she and Vice Ganda, the other half of their ViceRylle tandem, have patched up their differences.
“Ours is a friendship na talagang marami akong natutunan. We have had our ups and we have had our recent down. But iyon talaga yung friendship na masasabi ko na ang dami kong ngiti at scary things na natututunan sa kanya.”
Her rift with Vice started after the comedian-host admitted that Yael frowned on having him (Vice) as Karylle’s love teammate.
Stronger friendship
“Ours is a friendship na talagang marami akong natutunan. We have had our ups and we have had our recent down. But iyon talaga yung friendship na masasabi ko na ang dami kong crazy things na natututunan sa kanya,” Karylle said.
She added that the resolved rift strengthened her friendship with Vice. She also shared that Vice and Yael are okay and “have their own closeness.”
“It's part of who we are as friends. It's not a perfect friendship but it's a wonderful friendship nonetheless. I think every single friendship is different, but what makes ours unique is that meron kaming pinagdaanang ganoon. I think he's (Vice Ganda) helped me grow as a person. I like that about him kasi there are friends who will just let you stay the way you are forever, which is good, but it's nice to be pushed to your limit. And that's one thing that I learn from him day to day,” Karylle stated.
