Kean: ‘Callalily is my main priority’

Juggling his time between acting and music gigs, Callalily vocalist and actor Kean Cipriano says his band is still his main priority.

Kean first entered the music scene in 2006 when Callalily released their single “Stars,” which was followed by other hits such as “Magbalik” and “Susundan.”

Kean then ventured into acting, doing TV shows and few movies like “Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank,” “Praybeyt Benjamin” and the upcoming Star Cinema’s movie “The Reunion.”

Kean also appears every Sunday in “ASAP 2012,” where he performs with the ASAP Sessionistas. He says his solo projects do not affect his relationship with his band members and their schedules.

“I am proud to say that I have a very good support team. Meron akong management na sumusuporta sa akin, nagaayos ng schedule ko. Sila yung nakikipag-usap sa mga tao, ang gagawin ko na lang, pupunta ako sa set, gagampanan ko yung role ko. Pupunta ako sa gig, tutugtog ako,” Kean said at the press conference of “The Reunion” in ABS-CBN compound recently.

Kean feels proud to be part of “The Reunion,” a coming-of-age flick, starring Enchong Dee, Xian Lim, Enrique Gil, Julia Montes, Matt Evans, Bangs Garcia and Megan Young.

“Inenjoy ko yung movie, kaya kong panindigan eh. Iba siya kase my character won't work kung wala yung character nila and the rest. Kung ano yung ipagawa nila sa akin na role, gagawin ko siya. The story is about true friendship. May adventure kasi kami, may binabalikan kami kung bakit naging messed up yung buhay namin after college, na kailangan naming gawin nang magkakasama. It’s about real friendship,” he said.
