Kettal unveils Roll chair by Patricia Urquiola

Famous Spanish interior designer and architect Patricia Urquiola has created a contemporary new seat for luxury outdoor furniture company Kettal.

"Roll" is a witty take on the standard chair, featuring an upholstery that transforms a regular backrest into two independent "wraps," or bolster cushions, connected by colorful straps.

The chair features a graphical aluminum frame, while the straps are connected to the main structure by two pins.

The pins can easily be removed, meaning the cushions can be stored during the winter time, and the seat cushion is supported by a semi-transparent micro fabric.

The chair is available in vibrant striking colorways, including combinations of indigo and green hues.

Founded in 1964, Kettal has secured an international reputation as a leading luxury lifestyle brand and regularly works with high-profile designers including Marcel Wanders and Jasper Morrison.

Patricia Urquiola has worked with some of the best-known brands in the design industry, including B&B Italia, Moroso and Foscarini.

Roll will be available from September 2014, with prices starting at €1,650.
