“I’m happy for them. Wala naman pong masama, pareho naman silang single at maging masaya na lang tayo para sa kanilang dalawa. Nakakalungkot lang kasi yung friendship, nasayang. Yeah, yung friendship,” Kim Chiu finally broke her silence about reports that former boyfriend Gerald Anderson and close friend Maja Salvador are dating.
“I said bakit kailangan pang magpaalam eh wala na ako kay Gerald, wala na talaga. Kaya medyo naano lang ako na ang daming nagtatanong sa akin about Gerald. Bakit? Ang tagal na (na wala na kami),” told reporters at the press conference of book two of “Ina, Kapatid, Anak” at Luxent Hotel in Quezon City on Tuesday, January 8.
Kim also shared that the situation between Maja and Gerald still took her by surprise.
“Hindi ba, bakit? Hindi naman ako bitter na kung anuman ang nangyayari sa kanila, I’m happy for them. Pero parang nalungkot lang ako kasi yung taong sinabihan ko noong time na down ako doon sa (tao), eh parang kinain niya lang yung sinabi niya,” Kim said.
How is her relationship with Maja these days?
“We are good, we are okay. I don’t care, I don’t care about them. Bahala na siya. She knows Gerald, who Gerald is,” Kim replied.
“Sa mga bashers, tama na po. Let’s be happy for the both of them. Kung nagmamahalan man sila, kung anuman ang nararamdaman nila sa isa’t isa, maging masaya na lang po tayo,” Kim said.
Kim and Maja star in “Ina, Kapatid, Anak,” together with Xian Lim, Enchong Dee, Janice de Belen, Cherry Pie Picache, Ariel Rivera, Eddie Gutierrez, Ronaldo Valdez, Pilar Pilapil and Alex Medina.
Although the issue has somehow affected their friendship, Kim and Maja still manage to do their scenes well.
“Hindi naman (kami nahirapan). We can work professionally at nagawa naman po namin iyon at maganda naman po ang mga eksena namin. So, it’s okay,” Kim said.
She added that she feels tired of people always asking her about Gerald, whom she has broken up with almost three years ago.
“I’m doing fine, ang tagal ko nang naka-let go and ayaw ko ng magpakatanga.”
“Kami ni Gerald, hindi kami naging close. We just did it for work,” Kim replied.
