Kim Chiu: It's harder to make people cry

Kim Chiu is shifting from heavy to light in the Kapamilya teleserye “Ikaw Lamang,”  where her lighter role as Andrea is a far cry from her highly-emotional character Isabelle.

Ito tawa lang sila ng tawa, wala silang problema, wala man silang pera pero masaya sila,” Kim said at the press conference of ABS-CBN’s “Ikaw Lamang,” on Tuesday, August 12.

While Kim thinks drama and comedy are challenging, she finds it harder to do drama because she’s required to depict heavy emotions.

Working with KC

So pareho silang challenging.”

Kim admits feeling nervous about working with KC Concepcion, who plays Natalia in the teleserye.

“First time ko siya makatrabaho, siyempre kinakabahan kasi ang dami na niyang best actress awards,” Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014’s Actress of the Year admits.

But Kim believes she and KC will have a good working relationship because her co-star is “approachable and cool.”

“Nakakasama ko naman na siya before sa (ASAP) Hang Out and cool naman siya. Ngayon hindi ko alam yung mae-experience namin na mag-ate (in the teleserye).”

Kim added that she has to exert extra effort, now that she’s working with award-winning actors Coco Martin, Joel Torre, Christopher de Leon and Nonie Buencamino.

“Kasama mo ba naman yung mga mabibigat na artista from Book 1 to Book 2. Kahit wala kang lines, dapat umarte ka, dapat maluha-luha ka kahit wala kang sinasabi.”
