Kim denies she and Gerald are back on

Now working on their primetime dramas and paired opposite other stars, Kim Chiu and Gerald Anderson have had to parry make-up rumors almost as soon as their reel and possibly real love team broke up a year ago.

At the recent Star Magic catalogue launch, it was Kim’s turn to deny that she and Gerald were back on romantically.

Kim plays a woman pretending to be a man in the ABS-CBN series, “My Binondo Girl.”

In a separate interview, Gerald said that he is proud of the success of Kim’s drama and that he even teases Kim that she is more handsome than him when she plays the role of Yuan.

It’s all about career

As for love, Gerald seems to have put that in the back burner and says in so many words that he and Kim aren’t reconciling.

Like Kim, Gerald is all about his career, too. He plays the title role of “Budoy” in the TV soap of the same name.

In fact, said Kim, “I congratulated him nung nakita ko and maganda kasi yung reviews.

Kim also shrugs off suggestions their shows have been pitted  against the other.

“Iba naman yung show ni Gerald at iba din naman yung theme ng show ko. Sa kanya more on advocacy-serye. Yung sa akin naman, parang lalaki na babae,” Kim said who described her role as the male Yuan as “mayabang na pa-cute.”

In spite of her dual role, Kim says that she felt comfortable playing a male role as she is boyish in real life.

More comfy with boys

As for her leading men in “My Binondo Girl,” namely Xian Lim, Matteo Guidicelli and Jolo Revilla, she said: “Sobrang kulit nila, nakakatawa and nagkakaintindihan kami and enjoy kami na magkakasama kaming lahat.”

She is also surprised by the show’s ratings.
