Kris admits she and Herbert are dating
TV host-actress Kris Aquino finally ended speculations about her love life by admitting that she and Quezon City mayor Herbert Bautista are dating.
In the April 7 episode of "Kris TV," she shared that Herbert asked her brother, President Noynoy Aquino’s permission, to date her. Herbert's gesture "gained the respect" of Kris' family.
Somebody special
“Now there is somebody in my life who is special. Weeks before any speculation about us came out, personal po siyang humingi ng permiso sa kuya ko. Maraming iniisip si PNoy kaya ang intindi niya nung time na iyon, may gagawin kami ni Mayor na project para sa Quezon City. Until later that same day nung nagtext kaming magkapatid, natawa na lang si PNoy na 'permission to date his sister' pala ang hiningi," Kris said.
On Saturday, April 5, Kris posted a photo on Instagram which showed Herbert having dinner with her family. She has since deleted the photo and replaced it with a cropped one showing her with PNoy and her sons Josh and Bimby.
"Yes, my family welcomed him to join us during our get-together because they want to know him better. They want him to get to know our family. Just like other Filipino families, we are very close and we care deeply for each other," she explained on the show.
To inspire and support
Since both of them have big responsibilities in their respective careers, Kris said she and Herbert will continue to inspire and support each other's endeavors.
"I promised him that our relationship won’t be a distraction in his obligations to the three million residents he took an oath of office to serve. He has given more than 25 years of dedicated public service. And my respect for him and his office is such, that I don’t want to add stress but hopefully give him inspiration."
Chance at forever
Kris shared that she and Herbert are a work in progress. They are taking their "chance at forever" by keeping their relationship private. She promised it would be the last time she would talk about her relationship with Herbert.
"Herbert and I are partners in either the failure or success of our being together. And we can strengthen what we have by allowing ourselves to have a chance at forever by keeping quiet and private about what is here and now. We are a work in progress and it is a joint project that both of us are happily undertaking with maturity, respect and commitment. Sana nasagot na po lahat, it reflects everything in my heart and hopefully also in his heart."
Kris' marriage to cager James Yap was annulled in 2012, while Herbert has never been married, although he a long-time partner.
