Kris apologizes to Vilma
Yahoo Celebrity 2014 Social Media Star iof the Year and Female Host of the Year nominee Kris Aquino has apologized to Batangas Governor Vilma Santos for posting her dedication card on Instargram even if it had grammatical errors.
“I love you, Ate Vi. I apologize Ate Vi doon sa stress na binigay nito sa iyo. Pero sinabi ko nga, you're too blessed to be stressed. Sana sa 2016 bigyan mo ako ng oportunidad na iboto kita kasi sana national office na ang itakbo mo,” Kris said.
Vilma’s honesty
Vilma’s card, which Kris posted on Instagram, read, “Dearest Kris, Thank you sooo much for believing in me! I truely [sic] appreciate it friend... Life is short... Enjoy it - You are so bless [sic]... God is good! Smile :) I love you.”
Kris clarified that the error didn’t bother her because what matters most is Vilma’s “honesty, the sincerity and the genuine kindness.”
The TV host-actress also shared that Vilma’s gesture of giving a dedication card, along with a box of ensaymada, lifted her spirits when she was feeling low.
“I take offense doon sa nagsasabi na I meant her harm by posting that. I didn't. You know I'm a fan, you know I'm a Vilmanian. It (spelling error) did not bother me. Ako yung recipient ng card. Kung ako, noong binabasa ko, hindi ko chineck. Hindi ako nagpaka-English teacher doon sa card na iyon. What touched me was the honesty, the sincerity, the genuine kindness that she showed me,” Kris said in the July 3 episode of “Aquino & Abunda Tonight.”
Misinterpreted
After netizens accused her of malice for posting the card, Kris realized her gesture of appreciation can be misinterpreted.
“Ang mali ko doon I forgot that I do have one million followers on Instagram. Now I realize also na my good intentions of showing my appreciation to her can be taken the wrong way. Pero iyon nga pag gising ko the next day, siya nagsabi sa akin, 'Binabash ako ng followers mo, pero sabihin mo sa kanila, Hindi ako perpekto, natututo ako araw-araw.’”
The Kapamilya star admires the humility of Vilma, who told Kris in a text message that she (Vilma) still has a lot to learn.
