Her series of heartbreaks has made Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014 Female Host of the Year Kris Aquino lose hope in ever finding love.

Kris, who just ended her relationship with Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, shared that she is happy with her sons (Joshua and Bimby), personal life and showbiz career.

“Give up na! Hayaan na lang muna, parang hindi doon ang swerte. As it is now, nasasabi ko ito kasi kailangan pa ako ng mga anak ko. Seven lang si Bimb and 19  lang si Josh, pero kapag hindi na siguro nila ako kailangan, doon ko mafe-feel na sad ang buhay. While I feel needed and loved, it's okay,” Kris told reporters at the Yahoo Celebrity Awards 2014 on Friday, July 18, in Mall of Asia Arena.

She also shared that things didn’t work out between her and the man Dr. Vicki Belo recently introduced to her.

“Siguro iyon nga ang sinabi ni God, 'Uy, huwag ka masyadong maraming hinihingi. Makuntento ka na sa kung anong meron ka.’”

True friend

She feels blessed in having a true friend in Derek Ramsay.

“Mabait siya talaga. Maraming beses na immediate family mo lang ang pwede mong hingahan ng sama ng loob, pero ang family mo din nagsasawa na sa angst mo. So dapat meron kang ibang sounding board. Na-feel ko with him na whatever I tell him, nagkakaroon ako ng male perspective. Halos lahat ng close friends ko bakla, Si Vice (Ganda), si Boy (Abunda), tapos yung staff ko, katrabaho ko, walang male.”

Derek said in a previous interview that he advised Kris to be choosy when it comes to love.

Good relationship

“Ang swerte ko na siya yung natatangi na alpha male na naging kaibigan ko, na pwedeng sabihin sa akin ng diretso na, 'Can you just stop? Stop, don't waste your time and just shut it off'.' Kasi minsan lang sa lalaki, katulad nung sa 'Sex and the City' (line) na 'He's not just that into you,' na kailangan yung lalaki pa magsabi sa iyo noon. Iyon ang papel niya. Pero in the same way na kapag malungkot ako, gumagawa talaga siya ng paraan,” Kris said.

She also shared that Bimby and Josh get along well with Derek. They have gone out twice and watched the movie “The Fault in Our Stars,” which made Kris cry.

The support she is getting from Bimby is especially touching for Kris.

“Bimby is the sweetest kasi sinabi niya na 'Whoever makes my mom happy, that's cool with me.' Ganoon naman talaga. We all deserve to move on.”

Kris added that Derek advises her to be positive about finding Mr. Right.

“Ang sinabi niya, 'I hope that you will realize that not all men will hurt you.' Huwag ko daw isara yung puso ko sa possibility na may lalaking magiging totoo, na magmamahal at magiging faithful. If you're going to think negatively, it's going to end negative. Sabi ko, 'Derek, suko na ako. Kung wala, okay lang'. He said, 'Oh my God'. Sa kasasabi ko daw noon, lalong magiging wala.”
