Kris asks James to invite girlfriend to Bimby's birthday
After reaching an agreement on the custody of their son Bimby, Kris Aquino's relationship with former husband James Yap seems to be getting better.
The Kapamilya TV host-actress told Instagram followers on Tuesday, April 1, that she and James are "almost friends again."
Mature enough
She posted, “Being friends with your ex shows you two are mature enough to get over the fact that you weren't meant to be together."
She revealed that she and James are splitting the expenses for Bimby's 7th birthday party. Kris also asked James to invite his Italian girlfriend Michela Cazzola to join the celebration.
"Good Morning. Life continues to pleasantly surprise me. James asked me yesterday what my plans for Bimb's 7th birthday are & he offered to split the cost w/ me... I replied w/ the date & details & the cost. He replied by saying nalaglag sya sa upuan nya pero GO. I replied w/ hehehe okay lang whatever lang he was comfortable with. He said, okay lang para kay Bimb. I said THANK YOU & please invite your girlfriend to join the celebration," Kris posted.
Inspiring others
Kris wants to inspire others in a similar situation. She shared that their relationship started to get better after James praised her for being "an excellent Mom."
"We successfully split watching over Bimb in his TVC shoot Friday, I stayed until 6:30 PM & it was his turn until the shoot ended at 9 PM... We're not yet there but we are almost friends again. I'm sharing this because it may help those in a similar situation. The goodwill started because of James' text me on my birthday acknowledging that I was an excellent Mom. So maybe sometimes when we love our kids, we learn to forgive the failure of the marriage & we focus on succeeding as parents & being happy that we've all moved forward... Happy April everybody! God bless us all," Kris posted.
James revealed in a recent interview that Bimby hasn't met his girlfriend yet.
"Sa totoo lang, wala pa, hindi pa. Kasi unahin ko muna ang sarili ko na maging close muna sa anak ko. Si Mic kasi, tsaka na lang, naintindihan niya naman," James told reporters at the press conference of The PEP List 2013.
Closer to Bimby
James also shared that he makes an effort to be closer to Bimby.
"Ginagawa ko yung kaya ko kasi mahirap rin naman na once a week lang. So medyo mahirap iyon, so kailangan double effort talaga. Ginagawa ko naman yung part ko as a father na mapalapit sa anak ko," James said.
