Lacoste launches City Tennis app in NYC

Finding anything can be daunting in New York City where options abound, so that's why Lacoste is not only making things simple for tennis lovers with its new, free app, but creating a preppy social network to bring them together.

The app helps users to find courts in all five boroughs, according to their age, gender and skill level, and it provides a social network on which users can talk tennis, match up for practice and play or follow tournament feeds.

The "Snap n Share" camera function allows users to interactively browse the latest collection from Lacoste, virtually try on new gear and share it within the network. Users have priority access to Lacoste promotions and special events.

For fun on the subway the app includes gaming features and profiles of the athletes they sponsor.

Lacoste plans to expand the app, which is available for iOS and Android, to other cities in 2015, with Miami and Los Angeles expected to be next.

Tennis enthusiasts seeking an instructive app should try The Tennis App, in which world-renowned doubles team Bob and Mike Bryan offer their expertise.

For live professional tennis at your fingertips, try Tennis TV, which offers apps for smartphones and tablets.
