Singer-actor Lance Raymundo is recovering faster than he himself thought he would after an 80-lb. barbell in the gym fell on his face and crushed his nose last March 19.

In a Facebook post on Good Friday, April 18, Lance recounts that despite doctors’ predictions to the contrary,  he got his 20/20 vision back and his brain “had been cleared from any danger, seven days after the accident."

Faster healing

The speed at which the healing took place surprised him so much, Lance recovered, not just  physically, but spiritually as well.

“I was half blind, the small crack on my skull made me vulnerable to meningitis, seizures, attacks etc... And through my one functional eye, I took a good look at the mirror and didn't recognize my own reflection because my face has been disfigured,”  he posted.

But  this did not bring Lance down.  He just smiled at his reflection on the mirror and thanked God he’s alive.

It helped a lot that Lance’s family stands solidly behind him.

“My Mom helped me back to my bed (I needed someone to help me walk to the mirror because I had lost my sense of balance),” Lance relates.

“The Voice”

But the biggest impact occured in Lance’s heart.  He asked God for guidance, and learned to forgive the fitness trainer who accidentally dropped the barbell on his face.

Before he knew it,  Lance was dealing with something that would change his life forever.

”I must have fallen asleep, but at approximately 5:45pm, I heard a voice within my head saying "Your suffering will only last for 6 days because on the 7th day, everything will be restored."

The revelation caught Lance by surprise because doctors told him his badly-swollen face required them to  wait around three weeks for his first surgery.

But Lance believed  “the Voice.”

“God, I have full trust in you, and I fully accept my situation because I know there is a reason for everything and I know that you will not put me in any situation that I can't handle... But I just want to know if I'm really hearing you.... Or if my mind is playing tricks on me... Making me hear what I want to hear, just to help
me feel better," Lance prayed.

Then the voice asked him to sit down on his hospital bed and he did, even if he had to summon all his strength to do so. What happened next is enough to floor not just Lance, but anybody as well.

“The first thing I saw was the crumpled linen of my hospital blanket!!! It had the image of a bearded man, which to me... Looks like Jesus. I felt a little embarrassed for doubting my faith, but I was also very thankful for the direct response from God,”  he said on Facebook.

‘Random vision’

Lance called his mom, who took a photo of the blanket with her phone.

His brother  Rannie, who arrived shortly, told Lance that  while driving to the hospital, “he got dizzy and out of the blue, he got a random vision of me looking like myself again and heard a message that I will be restored!”

Their dad, who arrived later, believed it was Jesus’ face he saw on his wife’s phone.

“A day after, my swelling suddenly subsided. And my doctor informed us that he has scheduled my surgery on March 25, 2014,” Lance added.

He woke up the day after to discover that he everything felt a lot better.

"I'm 85 percent healed."

Lance needs one more surgery in May to transplant the cartilage that will support his nose.

Blessing in disguise

But the worst is over.  Lance can smile through it all because his accident turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

It left him lessons on  “faith, hope, forgiveness, positivity, love and family.”

It’s not just his face that has been restored. More importantly, the experience healed Lance's spirit -- from hurt, doubt and anxiety.

This is the miracle of Lance’s recovery – a miracle he wants to share with everyone,  because he himself has seen how it has shaken him and left him feeling blessed.
