Not one to shy away from (or deny) the surgical enhancements she underwent, Lani Misalucha is still flabbergasted.

“Pusskykip!” she screams, laughing so hard, she had to cover her mouth and set the mic down.

“Yun ba ng tawag doon?! Homaygaaad!!!”

Tightening

It’s the press conference of the Las Vegas-based singer to promote La Nightingale, her Dec. 6 concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

But as is the norm in the freewheeling and always entertaining entertainment press, the questions ping in wild directions.

This time, the 45-year-old singer was asked if she was willing to do an Ai Ai de las Alas and undergo the “pusskykip” procedure. De las Alas famously endorsed a vaginal tightening procedure.

Pass!

“Wala bang scientific name doon,” Misalucha asks before dissolving in another fit of laughter.

An online search yields the following: vaginoplasty, labiaplasty; some refer to it as "vaginal rejuvenation" and work on achieving a "designer vagina."

While the singer says she’ll pass on such procedures, she was typically forthcoming and self-deprecating about her nose job.

From West to East

“Ako wala akong tinatago sa inyo,” she tells the press. “Kasi yung ilong ko, itong part na ito”—she indicates her nostrils—“medyo from West to East ang lapad, kaya pina-ano (narrow down) ko sa gitna.”

She went under the knife twice: the first, in the Philippines, where the width of her nose was reduced and the second, in the US, where she had the bridge of her nose done.

“Ang nakalagay diyan…they call it liquefied cartilage,” she says of the filler on her bridge. “Pang inenject mo, parang magiging bone na siya. Magiging part ng system mo.”

Stigma of cosmetic surgery

While she jokes that the procedures boosted her confidence “1000%!” she feels that cosmetic surgery made her feel prettier but didn’t ascribe anything life-changing to it.

And neither is she bothered by the stigma Pinoys attach to plastic surgery.

“Bakit ako mahihiya, it’s my choice,” she said.

Previously postponed concert pushing through

What matters more to her is that she’s stepping back to the Big Dome after seven years.

The concert, which was moved to its current date from October, will feature guests Jed Madela, G Force and Journey frontman Arnel Pineda.

Misalucha will be backed up by the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Maestro Gerard Salonga. The show is directed by Paul Basinillo, with Louie Ocampo as musical director.

Lani Misalucha’s La Nightingale happens on Dec. 6, Saturday, at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. Ticket prices at P6225 4770, 3180, 1275, 795 and 480, are available at the Araneta Coliseum office, Ticketnet outlets nationwide, and Ticketnet Online.
